Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

1. When Gawain set out on his journey , what was his goal ? Did his goal change by the end of the quest ?
     Gawain's goal was to find the green knight and to get his head chopped off just as the green night has requested . Gawain was going to find the Green knight to honor his commitment .

2. Gawain had to face his fear in the abyss. What were his fears ?
   He feared dying and getting his head chopped off .

3. The Green Knight only nicked the back of Gawain's neck. What do you think would have happened to Gawain if he had not accepted the green girdle from the Green Knight's wife ?
  I think that the Gawain would've never survived ones the Green Knight had nicked him in his neck thanks to the green girdle that the queens gave him he survived .

4.What does Gawain learn about himself and about life from his encounter with the Green Knight ?
   Gawain learned that he had been a coward . The Green Knight let him keep the green girdle to remind him when that when he accomplish something he can look upon the girdle and it will humble him .

5. As a result of Gawain's journey , how does his community , the Brotherhood of the Round Table , Benefit?  Gawain told the King and the King offered words of solace to his nephew and the members of the court offered him comfort and that they will wear bright green baldrics in honor of  Gawain the Good and his journey .

A. The Call : The Call in the story is Gawain pursuing his quest to find the Green Knight and over come his fear of the Green Knight .

B. The Treshold : King Author gave Gawain permission to take his sword and try to cut the Green Knights neck , also King Author gave Gawain permission to go on his quest to find the Green Knight .

C. The Helper & The Mentor : The Green Knight was most likely Gawain's Mentor and Helper because he gave Gawain a Second Chance and he gave him a Lecture for Gawain never to feel to proud of anything he accomplishes because of his coward ways of not taking the sword correctly to his neck .

D. Challenges and Temptations : The challenge for Gawain was over coming his fears and going out for his quest to find the Green Knight . The Temptation in the story was when Gawain finally meet with the Green Knight and he was afraid to get his head chopped off .

E. The Abyss : The greatest challenge in the story when he decided to go and look for the green knight and even tho he was afraid and didn't let the sword slice him the first time he when for it the second time and stood up to the Green Knight .

F. The Transformation : In the story Gawain makes a transformation by being honorable and sticking to his word of always remembering that he wasn't as brave as he showed himself being and he told his whole town and the king about his journey and what truly happened to him .

G. The Atonement : As the new transformation in Gawain's journey the king offered words if solace to his nephew , and memebers of the court also offered comfort and agreed hat henceforth the lords and ladies of of the brotherhood of the round table would wear bright green baldrics in honor of Gawain the good and his great quest .

H. The Return : Gawain returned back to his everyday life but he learned that no matter what he would have to live knowing that he wasn't as brave and The Green Knight pretty much gave him a second chance .
